Taize prayer

One Wednesday a month, from 8:45 p.m. to 9:45 p.m., a prayer is held in the crypt, following Taizé’s proposal. A way of praying with simple and meditative chants, even repetitive, in an atmosphere of recollection, in the presence of the beads and icons, which contribute to the beauty of prayer.

Another important aspect of the Taizé prayer is the long moment of silence, after the reading of the Word and before sharing one’s intentions of the prayer. It is the opportunity to take a break, to take stock, to listen to the heart, to empty the mind.

As Brother Roger wrote, there is nothing more responsible than praying. The more we live a simple and humble prayer, the more we are driven to love and to express it with our lives (2005: Towards a future of peace)
