Support for the sick
The Gospels show us Jesus devoting a large part of His time to healing and supporting the sick. Since ancient times, the Church has considered this task as a priority in its action.
At the Sagrada Família there is a pastoral health group made up of people who, properly trained, visit the sick and bring them communion and pray with them in their homes. This service is also offered in nursing homes that have asked. The priest can also go there if he wishes to receive the sacrament of Reconciliation.
If you have a sick relative or friend who wants to receive this care, you can let the Pastoral Office know so that they can attend them.
What is the sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick?
It is the sacrament by which the sick or weakened people receive God’s strength to be sustained at this moment of weakness.
It can be received on the eve of an important surgical operation, in a situation of serious illness or in case of old age. It is recommended that the patient participates consciously, and that the close family accompanies them.
To request it, you must go to the Pastoral Office.
In the event of an emergency due to the extreme seriousness of the patient, if the pastoral care office cannot be contacted, the SALUS service (phone 932020696) can be used, which offers immediate care at any time of the day or night.
