Antoni Gaudí va néixer el 25 de juny de 1852 a Reus i el 1883 va assumir la direcció arquitectònica de la Sagrada Família, que s’ha convertit en la seva gran obra. A mesura que anava construint aquesta Església, l’església l’anava construint a ell, portant-lo a una vivència cada vegada més gran de la seva fe. Una fe que va quedar plasmada de manera extraordinària en la seva obra, en la que queden perfectament integrats els elements constructius amb el seu estil propi, l’admiració per l’obra de Déu en la naturalesa i la teologia, l’espiritualitat, la litúgia i la Paraula de Déu. És per això que s’ha iniciat el procés de beatificació d’Antoni Gaudí, que morí el 10 de juny de 1926, a causa de l’atropellament d’un tranvia i va ser enterrat a la cripta de la Sagrada Família.
